Brazil willing to inject “greater cohesion” to Mercosur

Brazil has plans to grant economic and trade aid to Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay in an attempt to give South America's main trade grouping Mercosur, “greater cohesion”, according to the financial press of Sao Paulo.

Brazil's industry expands 3.1% in 11 months

Brazil's manufacturing production accumulated 3.1% growth in the first eleven months of 2006 compared to the same period in 2005, which happened to be exactly the same as 2005 over 2004, reported the Brazilian Geography and Statistics Institute, IBGE.

Brazil still the slowest growing emerging economy

The latest release from the Brazilian Central Bank, based on private sector estimates, downgraded to 2.74% the 2006 GDP expansion. For 2007 the estimate among a hundred leading business men and analysts is that the economy will grow 3.5%.
